My heart is like a faded rose

It got frozen a long time ago

Its petals can barely hold on

Touch them and they’ll fall to the floor

It seems to be dead if you’re not close

But if you look at it from close enough

In its veins you can see purling blood

But now it’s just pale and cold

Now it suffers from starvation

Condemned to live in the shadows

It slowly dies in the summer frost

It was sweet but turned to sour

It loved but has turned untouchable
